I found your blog on MindBodyGreen, in particular, from the article you wrote about turning 35…..that could have been written about MY life! A lot of it rang true, especially the last part about rewriting your life and choosing your own adventures. It’s also reassuring to find that I’m not the only one who doesn’t own a big house, car, etc, there are others like me in the same boat. I’m also someone who is not ready to have children either and who loves the freedom to come and go as I please. Incidentally, my 35th birthday was also this week as well! Thank you for the inspiring article, please keep up the good work π
I just read “When I”m Honest About Turning 35, Sometimes It Feels Like I’m Being Left Behind” The second I saw the title, I related instantaneously and as I was reading I kept saying “yup, yup”, “Yup, I’m “Aunt Shell””. I then got to the quote from ‘Instant Happy’ and had the “ah ha” moment. So here is my confession:
I am 34.
I am successful.
I am strong.
I am a mentor.
I am making a difference.
I am an adventurer.
I am a photographer.
I am happy.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I will be sure to remind myself of this as I walk down the aisle as a bridesmaid in my younger brothers wedding this summer.
